More Sleepy Seahorses!

Since my last two seahorses have been pretty successful, I've made two more - this time in pink and brown.  They both measure about 10.5 inches tall and 4.5 inches wide with standard hooks on the back to hang them.

A Seahorse for The Sleepy Seahorse!

I've finally got a seahorse wall hanging up in my shop!

Comprised of mostly white and iridescent seashells on a wooden seahorse form, it would be perfect in any home featuring beach or coastal décor, and even more so in a bathroom with an ocean theme.  It measures 11 inches tall by 4.5 inches wide with a standard hook on the back to hang it.

Seashell Photo Frames from The Sleepy Seahorse

I've been making a lot of photo frames lately - it's fun to pair some of the pictures of I've taken on my various beach adventures with my seashell creations.

Here are some 8x10's

A 5x7

And a 4x6, both vertically and horizontally

Beach Decor Wall Hangings from The Sleepy Seahorse

I have three new items to share today, all of which can be hung on the wall and would be a lovely addition to any home featuring beach décor.

8x10 horizontal picture frame.  It contains a photo of a gorgeous Sanibel Island sunset.  The inner perimeter is lined with white jingle shells and turquoise limpets, and the top features a large pink scallop with assorted seashells and a pink sea urchin clustered atop of it.

Here is another photo frame that can be hung on the wall.  This one is 4x6.  It can be displayed either vertically or horizontally.

Small, square mirror.  It is completely covered in south Florida seashells, and a large white knobby starfish.  This would be perfect for a small nook on a bathroom wall!

This wreath is also adorned with only Florida seashells.  The burlap covering makes it a bit rustic.

Since my shop is called The Sleepy Seahorse, I'm excited to finally be making seahorse wall hangings.  There will be more of these in my shop very soon!

New Seashells from The Sleepy Seahorse

I haven't posted in awhile, so I have a variety of new items to share.  Hope you enjoy them!

This is the first ring dish I've ever created.  It's basically just a large iridescent clam shell adorned with calico scallops, other assorted seashells, and faux pearls.  It could actually be used for a multitude of decorative purposes in a home with beach décor or a beachy themed wedding.  For example, it could serve as a candy dish or stand alone as a decorative seashell piece.  In a wedding, it would make a lovely ring bearer holder, and of course it's also perfect in the bedroom/bathroom to hold rings or other jewelry.

This is the latest shell box I've created.  It's the most rustic one I've done so far, and it would ideal for any nautical or beachy décor of a rustic nature.  I've stretched faux fishing net diagonally across it, and then clustered only Florida seashells on top as though they are coming out of the net across the box.

These are my newest photo frames.  I love the circular one, and of course you can adjust the placement of the picture so the shell clusters tilt at whatever angle is desired.

Once again, I used mostly Florida seashells here.  The sunset photo was taken at Lover's Key State Park near Ft. Myers - one of the loveliest spots in all of Florida, in my opinion.

And lastly, here are my most recent ornaments.

This one (below) I designed specifically to be a wedding ornament.

I wanted to find a way to showcase an ornament without having to hang it.  So below is a decorated scallop ornament that sits on an easel rather than having a hanger on the back.

Seashell Beach Decor from The Sleepy Seahorse

I really can't resist pairing seashells with seagrass.

I've started thinking more about wall hangings in beach décor.  Here are two wooden boards covered in burlap and decorated with sea fans, seashells, sand dollars, starfish, and even a pink sea urchin on one of them.  They make a nice pair, but they could also be hung separately as well.

In keeping with the wall hangings idea, mirrors are also a great way to showcase seashells.

Air Plants and Ornaments/Seagrass Box from The Sleepy Seahorse

First off, I just wanted to share my new air plant!  These cute little plants take very little care, but they're fun and they are the perfect size to live in a seashell!  All you have to do is make sure it has plenty of filtered light, and soak it in water for about half an hour or so once a week.  Here is my new plant nestled inside a lighting whelk.

Just last week, I was asked to create some abalone ornaments for a beach wedding in California!  This was my first order for a wedding, so I was very excited.  Here they are:

These abalone ornaments seem to be pretty popular, so here are a few more that I recently added to my shop.

I'm offering these in a set of 4.

And as I've said before, I love seagrass in shell crafting - baskets, or boxes.  It already has a rustic, beachy look that showcases seashells nicely.  So here is another cylindrical/circular shaped box that I recently added to my shop.
